The Distinguished Service Award formally recognizes the outstanding and substantial contributions to pediatrics or to the Section on Pediatrics of individuals or of institutions that are independent of the Section on Pediatrics. Documented contributions of exceptional value to the Section on Pediatrics may be in any area(s) of concern pertinent to the Section on Pediatrics as a whole or to one or more of the regions or special interest groups and will be judged on the basis of the results of the individual's or institution's service.
